AD: Three Track Suggestions

No. 1: Metric - Speed the Collapse

  1. Artist: Metric
  2. Album: Synthetica
  3. Released: 2012
  • In contrast to the songs below, Speed the Collapse is far more upbeat and creates the potential for a performance based video.
  • Emphasis on guitar and drums, with a lead female singer at front.
  • Possible representation of a strong female character(?)

No. 2: The Temper Trap - Soldier On

  1. Artist: The Temper Trap
  2. Album: Conditions
  3. Released: 2009
  • The emotional possibilities of this are multiple - A person dealing with a breakup/divorce or an inner turmoil of a kind.
  • The downside of this song is that it's too long. It would be possible to edit it down to match the kind of narrative based video we could do.

No. 3: Lorde - Everybody Wants to Rule the World

  1. Artist: Lorde
  2. Album: Cover of Tears for Fears' original
  3. Released: 2014
  • The song has a natural crescendo, making it ideal for a narrative build up
  • It is short, which makes it easier for us to keep the audience interested - downside being that we might not have enough time to get our narrative across - in which case, there is an extended version for possible use.
  • The lyrics make it ideal for an epic illustrative music video.
