A2G3: Survey Results Analysis

We distributed a survey designed on Surveymonkey.com via Facebook and received a total of 23 responses.

66% of people who answered this question responded favourably, whereas there were only 33% indifferent or negative responses. This suggests that our song choice was well received by the public, which is highly encouraging.

This question was designed to establish whether the audience were familiar with the artist and therefore had expectations of her work which we would have to address. The results show a much higher percentage (82%) of people we surveyed have heard of her, so she is well known. This means that we have to consider her brand image and either replicate it or completely separate ourselves from it.

In this question we attempted to gain an understanding of the public's interpretation of the song. We were glad to find a huge range of answers which reinforced our interoperation, as they are both dark and sincere, even if they aren't quite the same.

This question was meant to try and get an understanding of the audiences perceptions in terms of colour, i.e. should it be grey and drab? Blue and cold? Etc.

The harshness of reality is something almost everyone is aware of, and some seek to escape in the enjoyment of media such as these music videos. We had to try and ascertain whether the audience would enjoy a music video which dealt with such a heavy subject.

Again this question seeks to confirm that the audience would be interested in a serious narrative, whilst also finding out whether they would find a child character engaging or perhaps annoying/irritating.

This final question gives one last insight into the audience's interpretation of the song, what they feel Lorde meant it to mean and therefore what subliminal/moral messages do they expect to be conveyed.
